Camino Bird List 2016

This page is a work in progress as I go through my notes, photographs, and list. I hope to have it completed by August 1.

European Black Vultures - Southern Meseta to Saria (bus) I was spotting these massive vultures from my window seat. They are huge!

Jay (Garrulus glandarius) - I have several terrible blurry pictures I'm too embarrassed to post. Saw these handsome jays hiking into Atapuerca, one of my favorite sites on the Camino. These birds were in the open pinelands of the hills above the savannah-like plains.

Stock Dove (Columba oenas) in the open pine forest past Atapuerca.
Stone Chat (Saxicola torquata) on the fern moors of Finnesterre.
Wheatear (Oenanthe oenanthe) common on the scrublands.
Subalpine Warbler (Sylvia cantillans)
White Stork - one of dozens I saw, this one hunting at the Burgos Airport.
